Keep drinking water is the first thing and the simplest thing for you to do! When you are healthy enough, you are suggested to drink at least 8 glasses of water every single day. Getting runny nose is no exception, you need to keep drinking water to stay hydrated, why? It is because water can dilute mucus in your sinuses so that it can be easy to expel from your nose. If you don’t drink enough water, mucus would be thick and sticky and it is the reason you suffer from a runny nose.
2. Inhale hot steam
You always feel better after a good session of the sauna, right? Why not apply a similar method to heal your runny nose? You don’t have to go to a sauna room, simply follow below steps:
1. Boil water in medium heat until the steam is created, then turn off the heat.
2. Just place your face above the steam for 20-30 minutes, take a break if it is too hot. Take a deep breath.
3. Blow your nose to expel the mucus.
Better yet, you can add one or two drops of essential oils into the water as it also helps you to sooth runny nose.
3. Clean your nose with neti pot
You want something more straightforward and direct. Why not try to clean your nose with neti pot! The neti pot is a teapot shape container with a spout, it is commonly used to heal the sinuses issue, including a runny nose. You can add salt water into the neti pot and then pour the salt water in one nostril, and expel the water from another nostril. This would help you to wash your nostril and make you feel more comfortable.
