In this crowded little red dot, flu germs spread from person to person by ways of coughing, sneezing or simply talking. Here are some measures to prevent germs from spreading as recommended by our pharmacists.
1. avoid touching your eyes, nose, or mouth
Hands off! Germs are often spread when a person touches a surfaces or object that is contaminated with germs & then touches his or her eyes, nose, or mouth.
2. cover your mouth and nose when sneezing
Use a tissue or you can always wear a surgical mask.
3. stay home when you’re sick
It’s not a great idea to spread your germs to others. Keep your distance from others to protect them from getting sick too.
4. vaccinate the single best way to prevent flu
A yearly vaccination is recommended as flu viruses are constantly changing & your body’s immunity to influenza viruses may decline over time.
5. wash your hands regularly & thoroughly with water & soap
Rub your hands for at least 30 seconds. Don’t forget about the back of your hands & fingernails too.
