Missing regular manicures? You don’t have to go out and do your nails at the nail salon. You can actually do your nails at home! Let us learn how to get a salon-quality manicure at home in 6 easy steps.

Step 1: File your nails

Filling wet nails can cause splitting. Dry your hands and then file gently, moving in one direction to get your desired shapes – square, round, or somewhere in between.

Step 2: Buff

Buffing your nails with a nail buffing block is kind of like brushing your teeth – it smoothens out rough edges and bring a shine on the nails. Make sure your nails are dry and clean – wet nails can break or chip easily.

Step 3: Clean

Wipe down your nails with alcohol on a cotton pad to remove any dust, oils, etc. Any moisture, oils, or lotion on your actual nails can result in a manicure that doesn’t last.

Step 4: Prep the nails

Apply a thin layer of base coat and cure in your LED lamp.

Step 5: Paint

Apply a thin layer of color polish and repeat the curing in the LED lamp. Apply a thin second and even third coat. Curing in between to get the color you prefer.

Step 6: Maintain

The last coat is a thin layer of topcoat. Once the topcoat has been cured under the LED lamp, saturate a cotton pad with alcohol and thoroughly wipe down your nails. Rib in cuticle oil directly on your nails.
