Summer is the perfect time to hit the beach and catch some rays. Planning for a beach day with your friends? Then read on for our best tips on how to wear makeup at the beach so you’ll look incredible in pictures.

#1 Foundation

What foundation should you wear in the sun? A lightweight, mattifying and sweat-proof powder foundation is the most suitable in the heat. It keeps shine at bay and helps even out your skin tone. Whichever you go for, always make sure that your choice has added SPF. If you are in and out of the water, opt for a water-resistant formula that can withstand the salty beach water.

#2 Bronzer

Brushing on a sheer, buildable bronzer to perfect a summer glow.  Choose a matte bronzer that doesn’t have any shimmer since it won’t look as natural in the bright sun. Start at the hairline at the top of your forehead. Then, apply it to the apples of your cheeks, sweeping up towards the temples in a C-shaped curve. Finally, put a little on your chin. There you have it!

#3 Brow pencil & brow gel

There’s nothing worse than losing an eyebrow after one dip in the sea. Wear a water-proof brow pencil to the beach or take it swimming, to ensure your brows stay smudge-proof. To keep things from looking too harsh, choose a shade that is just a bit lighter than your actual brows. Next, use a clear, waterproof brow gel to groom your unruly brows, keep the colour from smearing, and hold them in place all day long.

#4 Tinted lip balm

Skip lipstick. Consider a tinted lip balm with sun protection that contains super moisturizing ingredients like coconut butter, almond oil, jojoba oil and shea butter. The best thing is a tinted lip balm almost looks like a lipstick but has the feel and hydrating benefits of a lip balm. Look for something in pink and red hues to give your lips a sheer hint of vibrant colour.
