When everybody is talking about detox, what does detox mean? And why do we need to detox? So, we expose to toxins from the environmental pollutants to stress or even your food and beverage intake. Those toxins will accumulate in your body and affect your metabolism, immune system and behavior. It is vitally important to remove toxins in our body from time to time so that we can maintain our wellbeing in both physically and mentally. How to detox? It is as simple as include best detox food in your diet!

1. Beetroot

Whether you like the earthy taste of beetroot or not, it is always good to add some beetroot in your salad or have a glass of beetroot juice in order to clean toxins. Beetroot contains rich antioxidant and also rich in Vitamin C and fibre. Not only does beetroot help you to break down fats and toxics, the antioxidant called Betalains can help you decrease oxidative stress and aid.

2. Apple

The old saying “An apple a day keeps the doctor away.” is always true! Why? Thanks to its fibre, apple helps you clean your bowels and bring friendly bacteria which are good your gut. The skin of the apple contains greater fibre, you can simply add the apple skin to your oat in the morning!

3. Fermented Food

Do you feel bloated or suffer from constipation? Fermented food like Kimchi, Kefir, Pickles and sauerkraut bring you guy friendly bacteria or probiotics to take care of your gut. Besides, pickles, kimchi and sauerkraut are also rich in fibre, it can boost your gut health to the next level.

4. Walnuts

Everyone knows the brain-shape Walnut is good for our health as it is rich in protein, fibre and good fats that definitely benefit us in weight management. Yet, arginine found in walnuts also helps us to increase the circulation and blood flow of our body, it excretes toxins from our blood more effectively.

5. Garlic

Garlic is something people like it or hate it for its strong favor. Yet, garlic contains more than 39 antibacterial nutrients that prevent you from illness.  Also, fresh garlic can kill organisms which is not friendly to your gut, it can help activate the liver detox enzymes.
